Her Breakdown
Her journey began in 2010 as her first marriage was falling apart. She had also just received a diagnosis of Relapsing-Remitting Multiple Sclerosis.
(You can read her story featured on Blackdoctor.org.)
She was at her lowest point and often contemplated the meaning of life – which as a devout Christian was quite depressing for her.
Four years later after the divorce was officially complete, she realized that she had no clue how to define herself. She’d always been “someone’s” daughter, sister, friend or wife.
While the thought of redefining herself was frightening, it was also exciting. She now had a clean canvas to design her own life. That’s when she decided to take the biggest leap of her life – she moved across the country! Leaving her home state of Michigan to live in Arizona with thirteen boxes, three suitcases, a car, and her dog.

Whether it was bravery or insanity she needed a drastic change. So she ignored the part of her that was afraid and full of doubt and headed to Phoenix. Just two weeks after arriving in Arizona, her Dad died of liver cancer. She was devastated! Everything bad was happening to her and the best way she knew how to cope was to write.
Her Breakthrough
To cope with multiple griefs, she started a positive thinking blog called “Living With Sunshine”, the nickname that her Dad gave her as a child. She shared her journey (posts and poems) in a very transparent way. Here are some of her most emotional blog posts.
Blogging was so therapeutic and her readers enjoyed it as well. In her healing, she was helping others to heal too. For three years, she explored and challenged herself. She fell in love with hiking, exercising, and healthy eating. More importantly, she fell in love with herself.
By also keeping a journal of gratitude she purged her feelings on paper. She peeled back the layers of low self-worth that was showing up in her life as arrogance and overly critical thinking. She even took an honest look at how she contributed to an unhealthy marriage and ways to root out negative traits. And she even wrote a Thank You letter to her ex-husband!
Seriously, who does that?! (She didn’t mail it though)
As the veil of depression and anxiety began to lift, she felt a sense of empowerment that was completely new to her. She was fully in control of her happiness! That awareness led to a surge of joy.
Her Bounce Back
Shortly after she’d reached the point of contentment, clarity and empowerment, she met a new guy. All the inner healing and personal development had been preparing her to receive true love!
It’s been said that it takes half the number of years you were married to heal from a divorce.
But, Coach Q Simone has dispelled that myth! She proudly says your healing is determined by the amount of effort you put into it. That’s why she couldn’t let her journey stop with herself. Coach Q’s strong desire to work with others is what moved her to leave an eighteen year Accounting career – and she hasn’t looked back.
Living with Multiple Sclerosis taught her to listen to her body.
She has learned to consciously and unconsciously improve her thoughts, speech, and emotions. Everything she coaches her clients through is deeply ingrained in her own vault of experience and training.
Using her experience and expertise, Coach Q Simone ministers to others, adding meaning and purpose every day.
Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God.
