  • 🛑 Here's your sign that it's time to gain a new perspective. You've tried everything and done all that you know how to do. And you're still stuck. It's because new pathways are being formed. And you won't get to your new destination with an old map.

  • So tired from losing an hour of sleep. And my body is sore from dancing last night. But, we had a blast! What I love about Ballroom dancing is the style versatility. Here, I'm dancing with Earl Jones(EJ) who is what I call an Eclectic Dancer. He combines Detroit Style with Chicago Step. My husband, @ferg____ _ (the deep voice guy talking in the background) is a Smooth Operator 😜. Ladies once you know the basic footwork you can follow anyone. AND put your own style to it too. What would you call my style?

  • Shhhh! My clients regularly comment on how calm I am even while they are emotionally charged.

Here's a secret:

🧘🏾‍♀️ My meditation journey began 12 years ago after a diagnosis with Multiple Sclerosis, Fibromyalgia and Panic Attacks. Inner 𝑷𝑬𝑨𝑪𝑬 and 𝑯𝑨𝑹𝑴𝑶𝑵𝒀 is crucial for my health and professional stamina.

⬆️𝑳𝒆𝒈𝒔 𝑼𝒑 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑾𝒂𝒍𝒍 pose is one of my favorites.

It has so many benefits:

💜Calms the nervous system.
💜Lowers stress and anxiety.
💜Increases circulation.
💜Soothes muscle cramps
💜Stretches hamstrings
💜Lowers back tension

...Oh, and let's not forget

💜 Aids in digestion

Placing one hand on heart and one on the stomach helps to focus your breath, especially if you're new to mindful meditation.

❓What's the longest time you've meditated? Mine is 45 minutes. I'm working my way up to an hour.

(Note: Always consult a doctor before beginning any exercise regime)

  • Did you know that sibling position is considered one of the biggest predictors of your chance of divorce?

Using the Bowen Theory, Psychologist Walter Toman suggests that sibling position (rank and gender) is the foundation of development and communication. His research shows that “people who grow up in the same sibling position predictably have important common characteristics."

Basically, your sibling position affects your perspective and expectations in relationships.

What do you think? Is it automatic doom if you marry the wrong “sibling position”?

➡️What the study found is that if an older brother of a younger sister marries a younger sister of an older brother, less chance of divorce exists.

On the other hand, an older brother of a brother and an older sister of a sister is prone to battle over who is in charge. And, two youngest children are prone to struggle over who gets to lean on whom.

Here are my thoughts:

1. Parental expectations of each child also impact sibling dynamics. In my household, I was number 5 of 6 (three sisters and two brothers). My ranking gives me more insight and compassion. But, the expectation of being “the responsible one” was placed on me from an early age. So, while not the oldest, I have leadership and organization skills.

2. In healthy families, the study may apply as a general rule. But since most families have some level of dysfunction, it's likely that you have a need that wasn't met (regardless to sibling position) and still needs nurturing.

3. It’s not automatic doom for relationships. Both spouses must put forth the effort to understand their mate just like when cultural, socioeconomic, or religious differences are present.

🔚Conclusion: When coaching couples contemplating divorce, family structure and sibling position is used to increase awareness, manage expectations, and improve communication skills.

  • Emotions are the stimulus for thoughts and behavior.

The key to making rational decisions is maintaining a healthy distance from your emotions so that you make objective, rational decisions.

Some scientists and psychologists say we actually have three "brains" (physical, emotional, and logical). When under stress, the logical part of your brain disengages and shuts down.

The key to managing your emotions is tapping into the mind/body connection.
Adapting your physiology (your body's cellular activity) allows you to access the logical thinking part of the brain.

Here's how to do it.

Before making critical decisions, take these important steps:

1. Connect your breath to your heart.
2. Focus on the facts.
3. Understand the source/feedback
4. Stay present.
5. Slow down.

If any of these steps are especially challenging, I can help you develop a personalized strategy.

  • I can't speak for every so-called life coach, but I am pro-therapy (I have weekly sessions myself!).

BUT...there's a misconception that therapy is exclusively for trauma and coaching is ONLY goal driven. LIES!

I also don't subscribe to the idea that the past doesn't come up in life coaching. How can it not?!

⏸️ When you're overwhelmed in the present...
🫣 When you can't see the future clearly...

𝑰𝒕'𝒔 𝒐𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝑨𝑺𝑻 𝒊𝒔 𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒉𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒈𝒆.

Old ways of thinking, feeling, and navigating are affecting how you view life and your ability to cope. That has to be cleared in order to have the energy, insight, healing, to be in the present and move forward.

⏩My approach as a Neuro-Linguistic Practitioner and Coach is to:
1. Identify
2. Calibrate
3. Motivate

Each session is PERSONALIZED to you and your needs.

As a result you feel supported, guided and safe.

You'll begin to have:

✅Clarity
✅Courage
✅Confidence

Then you will begin to THRIVE

Moral of the story: There's enough room in the mental health arena for you to choose your method. 🧘🏾‍♀️🎯💭🫱🏾‍🫲🏽

  • Story time! | I remember the moment I realized I was HEALING from divorce.

No, it wasn't when I stopped crying or when I decided to "date" myself.

Or, when I moved across the country and started letting my hair grow back.

It was the moment my heart 💜🙂smiled and I thought of how THANKFUL I was for the lessons learned.

Yes, you heard me - I was thankful for a failed marriage!

Well, at that moment it was the realization that I hadn't failed at all.

Instead, I had

✅Grown from the experience,
✅Gained the lesson that I needed to learn
✅ Forgiven myself for having low self-worth

Then, I CHOSE to use the insight, resources and tools to MOVE FORWARD.

Whatever you are currently going through, just remember it is a PROCESS. There is no time limit to how long you will be in it but there is a sign to let you know it is coming to its end.

You will know that you've healed and learned the lesson when you say "Thank You ". .
